“Monastiraki” Metro Station - Line 1&3 3

Monastiraki (English: Little Monastery) station is an interchange station on the Athens Metro, between Lines 1 and 3. The original “Monastirion” surface station on Line 1 opened on May 17, 1895. It became an interchange point of the network when the underground station of Line 3 opened on April 22, 2003. It is located in the historic center of Athens, near the neighborhood of Plaka. The station is right beneath the Acropolis and next to the site of the Ancient Agora of Athens.

➡️ The “Monastiraki” metro station of the lines 3 “Airport – Nikaia” (blue line) and 1 “Piraeus – Kifisia” (green line) has two exits, both of which are equipped with an elevator. The one that serves us is the Monastiraki Square exit.


➡️ The station is fully accessible and permanently exhibits archaeological findings in its interior.


➡️ The accessible entrance is located at the left of the station.


➡️ It is equipped with an adapted toilet, to which you can ask for access.
